After by Amy Efaw

Story of a teenage girl, who hides her pregnancy, gives birth and dumps her baby. She's found out by the police, taken to a juvenile detention center while she's awaiting trial.

I wasn't really sure what this book entailed until I started reading it. It was a very serious subject. It was hard to feel sympathy for the character because she was such a recluse, pulling away from everyone because of this "problem" she felt she had. In her mind, it never happened. I was happy to see that the character finally did stand up and take responsiblitity for her actions in the end.
